We are on our way to Dallas, TX for a few days for Parker's job and I'm tagging along so we can celebrate our 1 year anniversary together!
Almost there!
After looking in every small gas station we stopped at along the way, we finally found Parker's favorite candy in Tyler, Texas
Thank you Tyler, TX!
We made it!
And we got upgraded from a standard room to a penthouse!
this is only half of the room!
To celebrate our arrival and the end of an almost 8 hour car ride, we decided to go explore Downtown Dallas. We ended up eating (& drinking) at a little Mexican restaurant we found on Market Street.
While Parker was busy working the trade show, I was busy working on all my physics and statistics homework I was missing while away.
My lunch everyday
Sunday March 9, 2014
It's our 1 year
anniversary!
After Parker finished work we went and walked around Downtown Dallas a little more.
Ride it cowboy!
Tonight dinner will be served 560-feet in the air while spinning 360-degrees!
Wolfgang Puck's Five Sixty Restaurant
I can't believe we are eating all the way up there!
our view from the top of Dallas!
Amuse Bouche
Our appetizer: Crispy Maine Lobster & Shrimp Spring rolls, Honey Ten-Spice Sauce
My dinner: Lacquered Chinese Duckling, Lo-Mein Noodles, Plum Wine Sauce
Words cannot describe how delicious all of the food was
On Monday I decided to get out of the room and go tour The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. I'm a history nerd so this was right up my ally.
If you don't already know, The Sixth Floor Museum is a tour around the sixth and seventh floors of the building (formerly known as the Texas School Book Depository) where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kenny from a window on the sixth floor.
I really enjoyed the museum and I really wish Parker could have been there to see it with me.
The exact spot where President JFK was shot and killed
The Sixth Floor Museum
The view from the window where Lee Harvey Oswald sat in the Texas School Depository
Very eerie
And on Tuesday we said goodbye to Dallas and headed back home to Baton Rouge & our puppy
Thanks for a great time, Dallas! Hope to be back soon
